Empowering Young Artists
At the Spix Foundation, we believe in the power of creativity and education to shape a brighter future. We do this through our inaugural SpixArt Youth Art Contest, inviting students ages 12-18 to embark on a creative journey exploring the rich history and exciting future of education.
The SpixArt Youth Art Contest is more than just an art competition. It's an opportunity for young artists to:
Win Prizes: Students can win valuable monetary prizes to support their educational journey. (1st $1000, 2nd $500, 3rd $250; prizes for each age category)
Gain Exposure: The winning artwork will be featured on the Spix Foundation website, giving participants a chance to showcase their talent on a professional platform.
Make an Impact: Student art will contribute to the conversation about the importance of education and its evolution in our rapidly changing world.
Develop Skills: Participants can challenge themselves creatively and technically while creating commercial art.
Gain Experience: This real-world application gives young artists a taste of professional creative work, enhancing their portfolios and bridging the gap between artistic expression and practical application.
2024 Contest: From Scrolls to Screens, Education Through the Ages
This year's theme asks participants to explore the rich tapestry of human learning throughout history and across cultures. We challenge you to create artwork that tells the story of how people learn, from ancient times to the digital age and beyond. By engaging with this theme, participants will not only create art but also deepen their understanding of education's role in shaping societies and individuals.
We challenge young artists to delve into this narrative, considering:
• How ancient civilizations learned and passed on knowledge
• The diverse tools, methods, and environments that have
been used for teaching and learning across cultures and
time periods
• How technology has changed the way we access
information and educate ourselves
• How education has both evolved over time and remained
the same
• What education might look like in the future
• How education has impacted your own life and community
