John Kimotho is a leading voice in Africa’s education technology landscape, recognized for his expertise in scaling EdTech solutions across the continent. As Head of Office, Africa for the Spix Foundation, he leads the RESPECT™ initiative while also serving as a consultant with the World Bank’s Global EdTech Team and AUDA-NEPAD. He is a researcher and co-author of A Leading Perspective on Digital Courseware in LMICs (2024), lead consultant for Africa EdTech 2030 Vision & Plan (2025) and Policy Framework for Advancing Standards-Based, Vendor-Neutral EdTech for Africa (2025), and contributor to the Guidance Note for AI in Foundational Learning (2025). John also provides research and advisory leadership as a board member and consultant for the mEducation Alliance, and contributes to major continental platforms such as eLearning Africa, Smart Africa, Innovations Africa, and Digital Government Africa.
