Ninon Nelson
CEO
(Dubai,UAE/Naiorbi, Kenya)

Ninon Nelson is the Chief Executive Officer of the Spix Foundation. She leads the Foundation's mission to strengthen education systems across Africa through its core flagship initiatives: Mwanga wa Elimu, a continental movement mobilizing Africa's education ecosystem around shared priorities, and Project RESPECT, an open-source digital learning platform designed on the principles of Digital Public Infrastructure that turns those shared priorities into practical tools for learners.

Working at the intersection of policy, philanthropy, and practice, Ninon guides the Foundation's strategy and its partnerships across governments, multilateral institutions, philanthropic funders, and the private sector. At the heart of her work is a deep belief in local ownership: that education transforms lives most powerfully when the infrastructure behind it is owned, shaped, and sustained by African institutions and communities themselves. It is this conviction that keeps the Foundation close to the regions, classrooms, and people it serves.
