Chere Sutherland brings over two decades of experience in education, having taught secondary students and adult learners in diverse contexts around the world. Her career spans traditional classrooms, online learning environments, and varied socioeconomic settings, giving her deep insight into both the challenges and opportunities within education. Beyond teaching, she has served as a Subject Matter Expert, designed accessible online curricula, and volunteered extensively in her local school community.

 

As Education Director at the Spix Foundation, Chere leads transformative initiatives such as RESPECT™, an open-source Digital Public Infrastructure for Education, ensuring the platform effectively meets the needs of educators and learners. She also directs the SpixArt Youth Art Contest, an initiative designed to empower students through creativity and expression.
